In 1883, while studying the art of soap making in France, James Bronnley stumbled upon an idea to make the best soap the world had yet seen. Returning to England, he employed this ingenious process, producing the first "French Milled" (triple-milled) soaps, changing the soap making industry forever. Today, a century and a quarter later, Bronnley is still managed by the founder's granddaughter, ensuring a rare continuity and dedication to the highest old-world standards of quality. Lemon soaps were one of James Bronnley's earliest creations, and have remained an important part of the company's fine line of soaps.
